KIC 2014684: possible MPC system
-
by ajamyajax
More speculation, but maybe multiple planet candidates have been spotted by planet hunters around KIC 2014684... They appear to be less than Earth radius, and there might be a near 1:2:4 orbital resonance here. The possible transits I looked at have TTV, and maybe show a complex correlation. Several might have transit duration variation (TDV), or are partially blended at times.
Of course any or all could be just periodic star activity, star spots, or even a bgeb or two. But also a chance for co-orbitals for the dual P=48 possibles. And other transits are possible. Note the occasional blending and the TTV might explain why this system not on any lists. But if some of these transits work anyway, maybe an HZ candidate is possible since this M dwarf star is 4028-4200K and 0.545-0.664X Sol.

Yes, I think it's an interesting system. Good detrending skills would be helpful in this case, I'm not an expert here, but the following images suggest various possible transits (windows size in the detrending algorithm chosen to be 39 days):

I took a look and here is what I did not like. The events could be caused by data breaks and impacts of cosmic rays (LCs are in SAP_FLUX):
