Jumps in the graph

  • Veselina by Veselina

    Hello everyone,

I encountered several situations where the light curve changes very dramatically within the 1/2 hour of the measurement, so what I see in the graph looks like an interruption (glitch), but in fact is just the light-curve moved to a significantly higher/lower level. It then continues to behave in the same way as before the "jump". I wander what this means and if there's any point in hash-tagging it in any way.

    Thanks!

Oftentimes, jumps in the data like these are due to instrumental changes - drops in sensitivity, impacts by cosmic radiation, or something else along those lines. You can point them out if you want, but they're pretty common and rarely of much importance.
