RR Lyrae & Cepheid variables in the Kepler K2 data set

  • Dolorous_Edd by Dolorous_Edd

A logical continuation of the Old Thread just not to mix them with PC candidates

All most all of them would known since they are specificly targeted, but, hey, surprises are possible, right?

A bit of a jump but

    From C2 K2 Finds

EPIC 203692906 is strange SIMBAD & VSX entry

Listed under GO2049 Prsa K2 campaigns 2 and 3 target proposal: Eclipsing Binary Stars

    enter image description here

ignoring the second "floor" which is caused by LC jump ~2104 BJD it looks like RRab

    https://www.cfa.harvard.edu/~avanderb/k2c2/ep203692906.html

Am I right interpreting that the flux is going from somewhere else?

Huh? the target marked by green circle but aperture defined so that flux is from another star?

enter image description hereenter image description here

And few words about environment not a cluster, but ...

    EPIC 203692906:

I do not think that is the case, I extracted the lightcurves for the two sources and the green dot seems to determine the target.

    Thanks!

    This quote puzzled me

In the image plot, the region outlined in red is the 'best', default photometric aperture, and the green dot is the position of the target according to the astrometry information in the Kepler target pixel file.

Or flux just bleed from 203692906 to that star? or whole field is in aperture except that star

Also, did you used Troy's AKO TPF to extract LC? Can I have a look at the extracted LC?

    Yeah, me too.

I guess that could be the case, I do not know if Andrew Vanderburg extracted the corrected lightcurve from the "red box".

Yes it is Troy's AKO-TPF software. I mainly used in C2 before the corrected Vanderburg lightcurves became available. Subsequently I have used it for the asteroid movies, and in a few cases in order to determine EB contamination. I did not save the lightcurves 😕.
