Degree of drop in brightness

If I am reviewing a star and on a particular day and the brightness appears to have a significant drop does this indicate that the drop is caused by a transit? For example, on day 12 the lower brightness number of the day appears to be 0.9986 but there is another another recording below that say at 0.9975. This gap appears much larger than the other brightness recordings for day 12 on the light curve. Does a transit account for this gap and should it be marked if I am unsure? D
