12 hour gap followed by a jump in the brightness

A lot of the light plots have a 12 hour gap followed by a jump in the brightness. And many stars show these gaps and jumps at the same hour.
This is very confusing to a new person.
Now I am assuming that these are due to an artifact of the measurement method, maybe re-calibration.
Is this correct?

Yes, these gaps are artifacts caused by movements of the Kepler telescope. More details here http://blog.planethunters.org/2011/03/10/gaps-in-the-data/
