Contamination?

    EPIC210940839

This LC looks a bit like an EB to me, but the dips seem too shallow? I wonder if there is a contaminating background EB here? I've folded it at 13hrs 55 mins (0.58 days), but don't know how to work out for sure if I'm right

Re 210940839: this one looks like a close contact binary by its transit depth and duration. The period could be twice what I have here, I am just including this plot because of the pattern seen in an alternating fit. As you mentioned though contamination is also possible with shallow-ish transit events but that requires more research.

Hi ajamyajax MT for pointers of how to look nearby stars up, which I've worked my way through.

    Skyview_EPIC210940839

This is a Skyview of the patch of sky around this star, I've checked and despite having EPIC numbers the other 13 numbered stars seem, according to NASA's NEA, not to have available LCs.

The only listed nearby variable in VSX is 6.55' away and has a period of 1.056

I've looked in SINBAD and VizieR and neither seem to know what the brighter star just to the north at 04 00 10.241 +22 02 37.14 is. Now I want my own big shiny telescope Doh!

So seeing as relevant data on nearby stars seems not to be available, I'm not sure if I've furthered the quest to decide if this is an EB or is instead contaminated by one nearby.
